THE ART OF EATING GENEVA

There are two places I think you should go next time you are visiting Geneva. Like me, they are not fancy. So if you quickly skimmed the title of this post and thought it would be about Rolex watches and Mont Le Blanc luxury writing instruments the following will deeply disappoint you.

Please go to:

1) Chez Ma Cousine

Geneva

If you like chicken you must go here for lunch and/or dinner. I’m serious! There might be a short wait outside the small and colorful eatery, but the line goes fast and and it’s totally worth it. I wish, wish, wish I could have some of their perfectly cooked chicken again. It comes with chips and a salad. Everything you’ll ever need in life.

2) Market Fusterie

Geneva

We stayed near the Place de la Futerie, the plaza with the most versatile market in Geneva. On our first day there was an excellent book market. The next day there was a tempting food market. We somehow ended up with a 5k bag of delicious churros. No one knows how it actually happened.

It was bleak, cold and depressing in Geneva during out stay. We were a bit over it to be honest but seeing the market sellers with their exuberant smiles put me right back into a positive place. Here is the market schedule.

3) Creperie St-Pierre

Geneva

If you’re visiting the Saint Pierre Cathedral to make your way up those 26181 stairs and see that beautiful view of Geneva, why not treat yourself to a crepe after you’ve come down. You deserve it! The Creperie St-Pierre is just around the corner; it’s comfortable, relaxing, and they make a very satisfying crepe.

4) Cottage Cafe
Geneva

This is a wonderful place to go for a coffee and homemade cake just across Lake Geneva. The inside is cleverly decorated with books, magazines, comfortable blankets and indoor fairy lights making it feel like the Cottage Cafe is actually an Airbnb you’ve rented for the duration of a meal.
