Tassie. Tassie. Tassie.

You know that thing of having really high expectations for something and as a consequence you are totally let down? IT DOESN’T ALWAYS HAPPEN! Take me and Tasmania for instance. I am completely enamored with Tassie and I only spent two full days there.

I’d been desperate to visit Tassie for about 2 years. I’d made a habit of filing away travel articles about it. When I would overhear strangers talking about Tasmania I would extend an invitation. They would, rudely, run away in panic. “Who is this crazy girl that wants to go all the way to Tasmania?

This only happened once.

Weird things happened to me in Tasmania – I fell in love with garages, I cared more about activities than food, I sat on a sheep, I chased seals around the ocean, I spent time with a machine that makes human shit, I had a pie on the go, I got frostbite one day and a sunburn the next. All will be explained.

The pictures above are from the gorgeous and historic Battery Point neighborhood where we stayed and the very popular Salamanca Market. None of my pictures will do the beauty of Hobart justice, but it was so delicious I still have to share.
