keeps the doctor away.
Jill, Jack’s mom, gave Jack and Lucinda a weekend away in Ocean Grove for their birthdays. To be 100% selfish, it was exactly what I needed.
I’ve come down with a fat case of that I-miss-my-family-and-friends-back-in-the-US illness during the last week. Fortunately, there’s really nothing a weekend at the beach can’t fix. With nothing to do but read a book (May We Be Forgiven by A.M. Homes in this case), play Bananagrams, drink a slab of Peroni, skateboard in the sun, barbecue, and listen to the sound of the waves crashing on the shore during an afternoon nap, it’s no wonder I came back feeling happy, rested and reassured that life is good. Really good.
